An Anniversary Date with a Piano and a Nutcracker

Everyone loves Christmas music, which makes December a favorite for piano recitals. Unfortunately I was in Washington, D.C. when Isabelle and Olivia had their recital, but Grandpa was able to attend and was so proud of them.
Leo's piano recital happened to fall on the date of our 46th wedding anniversary, so we started our day of celebrating with his performance. Leo played a solo, and also a duet with his teacher. Afterwards, the Vernon family and Tara joined us for an anniversary lunch at one of our favorites, Gringos.

That evening we attended The Woodlands Civic Ballet Company's production of "The Nutcracker." Isabelle danced the part of Clara's friend and as a Sugar Plum Fairy Attendant, and Olivia danced as a Bon Bon and a Sylph. The girls especially look forward to and love practicing and preparing for this event every year. They are both becoming talented and graceful ballerinas.

We never could have imagined 46 years ago on that snowy December day when we launched the Christensen family how awesome it would be to spend our wedding anniversary date with a piano and a Nutcracker!
