Banff, Canada

Tara was attending a Dance-o-Rama in Banff, Canada, the last week of April so we took the opportunity to visit that amazing destination again. We actually flew to Kalispell and spent the night at Sigh-Bar, then drove the next day up to Banff. We took a route that was new to us, up through the Crowsnest Pass in the Rocky Mountains to Calgary in Alberta, then up to Banff. We were raised in the shadows of beautiful Utah mountains, so we are used to mountains, but those Canadian Rockies are truly magnificent.

One great advantage of traveling with Tara is sharing all of her perks and benefits. We stayed with her in her suite at the famous Banff Springs Hotel. We took this picture to show the sitting room of the suite, which is in the turret!

We brought Tara back to Sigh-Bar with us, taking a road slightly north of Banff west through the Rockies to British Columbia, then south to the USA. It was such a beautiful ride. We even had to stop for this herd of mountain goats crossing the road!
Once we were home Lee went to work on his projects outside and Tara and I created our own adventures! We slept in, hiked up behind the house and marked a new trail for future hikes, went with Lee to pick up the horse, and went shopping in Kalispell. We warmed up by the fire, roasted a hot dog, and Tara tried out the hammock. The kids had given Lee an original picnic table for Christmas, so we went into Kalispell to pick it up. There was a smaller kids' table on display that we couldn't resist, so we got it too! However, the kids' table was unassembled -- thus, a project for us. Then we stained the two tables, which are perfect for around the fire pit.

All too soon it was time to take Tara to the airport for her all-night flight back home (Kalispell to Seattle to Denver to Miami). Thanks to Arthur Murray's annual spring Dance-o-Rama in the Northwest, we can always count on Tara for some fun in the spring at Sigh-Bar!
