We weren't able to get to Montana to celebrate Alex's birthday with her this year, so we talked her into bringing the kids and coming down to Houston for some summer fun in the sun. After two plane rides and a long layover in Denver, I was excited to pick them up at the airport. We had two birthday parties for Alee, and played hard all day/every day for the next 10 days.
Lee had a couple of medical procedures and had to spend a couple of days in the hospital, but the kids were so busy playing with their cousins they hardly missed us. They loved swimming in the Cosby's pool, playing games, time at the park, lunch/dinner on the patio, watching movies, sleepovers, arts & crafts projects, and hours of their own creative play.
Ruby was especially in love with Bonnie, and could not get enough time playing with her. She especially loved that she was big enough to hold the leash and take Bonnie on a walk.
One of our favorite activities was a trip to The Woodlands Waterway to paddle the big swan boats up and down the waterway. Everybody got a turn to paddle in the front and relax in the back.
All too soon it was time for the Vernons to head back to the airport for a very early flight back to Billings. Summer is hot in Houston, but when you're with the ones you love it's soooo much fun!!
