Everyone unloaded their bags and took a walk around Sigh-Bar before we enjoyed a yummy Tex-Mex dinner. Lee built us a great fire to warm us up, and so that we could use the pie irons to each make our own dessert -- apple, cherry, or peach pie with lots of whipped cream!

The next morning we gathered in the kitchen for warm cinnamon rolls and hot chocolate, before filling our individual bags with our own version of trail mix, and packing our Bee backpacks for our day in Glacier National Park. Wildfires had closed parts of Glacier in August, and I had been anxiously monitoring the schedule in fear the hike I had targeted for us would not be re-opened. But...just in time the hike to Avalanche Lake was opened! The air was a bit chilly, but the hike was simply gorgeous. The autumn leaves were so beautiful, and we even met a family of deer along the trail. While we were busy sitting on a big log taking pictures, a bear jumped in and swam across the lake!

On our way home we stopped in at Sweet Peaks for some of their famous homemade ice cream before settling in for a cozy evening around the fireplace at home. Once everyone was in their comfy pj's we warmed up with a baked potato/chili dinner, set up our "candy bar," worked on wood slice crafts, and shared our favorite things.

Saturday morning we got to work on the service project that Gloria had organized. While the rest of us cut, pressed, laid out, and pinned, Gloria sewed. We completed 10 baby blankets to donate to the local hospital in memory of our original "Queen Bee." Mom's hands were never idle. She was always crocheting, quilting, sewing, or knitting, and loved to make baby things. She gave beautiful handmade baby gifts to everyone she knew (and many that she didn't know!), and was such a wonderful example of developing her talents and using them to bless the lives of others.

After a stop for Diet Cokes all around, and our visit to the nursery at North Valley Hospital, we indulged in some retail therapy exploring the little shops in downtown Whitefish. "Linner" was at one of our favorite local spots, The Fart & Slobber Inn, with one more stop at Sweet Peaks for the unique flavors we missed the day before! It was a little too chilly to enjoy sitting around the firepit, so we opted to have our official Bee Meeting and final evening around the fireplace inside. I was elected to be the Queen Bee for the next year and took possession of the mink coat (which I might even get a chance to wear in Montana!).

Bee-fish Beevention was such an awesome weekend, spent with fabulous women that I love and admire so much. There is definitely a unique power within me that is charged and ignited by this hive of compassionate, talented, smart, funny, generous, unselfish, and sensitive women.
