The temperature at Sigh-Bar the morning of October 2nd was 27 degrees, which was a clear sign that winter is on its way and it was time for us to head back to Texas! We knew it was going to be a challenging road trip for Lee, sitting on his fractured pelvis, so we opted to drive the Yukon rather than the truck. Our goal was to drive about 500 miles each day, which ended up with overnight stops in Billings, MT; Loveland, CO; and Dumas, TX. Some of our stops along the way resembled a traveling sideshow, but both Lee and Cocoa survived! We are so grateful for yet another safe 2100+ mile road trip!
Hurricane Matthew threatened to hit close to Miami, and residents were encouraged to evacuate, so Tara had a great excuse to come over and celebrate her birthday weekend with us. We made some of Tara's favorite Mexican dishes for dinner, and had "make your own" ice cream sundaes for dessert. An added bonus was that Monday was Columbus Day so Tara got to stay an extra day before returning to work.

Superama event in Las Vegas, so we had our traditional Halloween "Dinner in a Pumpkin" a little early this year so she could join in the fun. Tara also took the opportunity for a first-time school lunch visit with Leo at Kuehnle Elementary.
We continued to endure above average hot temperatures and high humidity throughout October, including a very warm Halloween, but that didn't keep us from having a great time!
