Lee is, and always has been, a huge fan of George Strait. (I'm a fan too, although not to the same extent Lee is!) The kids had tried to get tickets to George's Las Vegas concert as a retirement gift for their dad in December, but had given up hope on success and had that beautiful and unique personalized weather vane made instead. Then in March, Tara's contact in Las Vegas told her he was able to get tickets to the concert for her afterall. WAHOO!! And...turns out it was four tickets rather than just two! So, thanks to Tara, who also made hotel arrangements for us at the
Luxor, we made a quick trip to Las Vegas for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. With last minute notice, Gloria & Kent were able to drive up and join us with the two extra tickets.

The concert was the first concert to be held in the brand new
T-Mobil Arena, and we were so thrilled to find that our tickets were for floor seats on the 8th row! (I just couldn't resist getting a selfie with Coach Gary Kubiak, who had the seats next to ours!) Kacee Musgrave sang the first hour, then it was up close and personal with King George while he sang many, many of our all-time favorites. A check on Lee's bucket list that we had never hoped to accomplish!

We have great kids ... thanks to them for a dream come true for their dad!
