Fooling Around in April

The running group, more affectionately known as "The Herd," has tried many times in the last year to find a date when we could all be available for a get-together/dinner with our husbands, but there were always conflicting schedules. With summer on its way we finally just picked a Friday night hoping for the best. The casualties were Tammy and Laura, who were both out-of-town and unable to join us, but luckily everyone else could make it.

Lee was thrilled for an excuse to build a fire on the patio, and it was actually a rather chilly evening and we were all happy to huddle around the fire to roast a hotdog. Everyone brought yummy additions to the menu, and we had a great evening together. It was April Fools Day and Brae fooled us all when we opened the box of Shipley's Donuts she had brought for dessert and found veggies & dip instead!!
I am so grateful for this group of young ladies who share an early morning running habit. It is so much easier to enjoy the miles while discussing everything/anything!!

So... after fooling around with our friends, we switched to fooling around with the Cosby girls. Amy & Ben took an extended anniversary date to Costa Rica for a few days and we stepped in to "grand-parent" Isabelle and Olivia. We are proud to report that we made it to school on time every day, as well as ballet, gymnastics, soccer practice, and a soccer game! The girls tried to keep us as close to their regular routine as possible (considering it takes us longer to do things sometimes), and probably ate more snacks and treats than usual, but overall we had a great time together. However, they were relieved and thrilled when their parents got home!
