Swimming in Ohio

Much to our amazement, and great delight, we have a swim champion in our family! Swimming has never been a strong sport for any of the Christensens (nor even any of our extended families) until Max, so we are having great fun learning how to understand what's going on at a swim meet! Lee and I took a long weekend in Ohio to cheer for Max at the 20th Annual CAC Summer Classic held at the Miami University Aquatic Center in Oxford.

Max competed in the 200 meter individual medley; the 50, 100, and 200 meter freestyle; the 50 and 100 meter butterfly, breast, and back strokes; and on the 200 meter medley and freestyle relay teams. He is an awesome little swimmer, and placed in every event!

We get to spend too little time with Max, so it was a real treat to be his fans in the stands! Plus, Oxford is a beautiful little college town, and we really enjoyed exploring the little downtown and walking around the Miami University campus between swimming events. Chris took us for a walk around their neighborhood every morning, and it's always fun to go back to Springboro and see the changes and growth. There was a slight hiccup in our trip when our flight Monday evening got cancelled (due to weather in Chicago, where we were scheduled to change planes), but we were able to catch a very early flight out Tuesday morning, through Washington, D.C.!
