Family time .... then on to Sigh-Bar

Dad fell, and has had a tough couple of weeks in the hospital, so it was fortunate timing to be able to spend some time with him. He is slowly recovering, but definitely needs to be in an assisted care facility, so we were happy to be able to help move some of his furniture, etc., into his room at the Seasons of Santaquin Assisted Living Center. We had a great visit with Dad, and enjoyed some favorite spots in Salem. We even ran into Casey & Mandy and their boys at Fast Gas as they were heading to the mountains for the deer hunt! We got the royal treatment staying with Charles & Audra, and were happy to get to see all of their family too.

Back on the road again, it was a beautiful autumn 700-mile ride to Montana. We were glad to arrive and get the house opened up, the water on, the heat turned up, etc., and find all well at Sigh-Bar. First thing the next morning Lee went to pick up the horse, so she could keep him company while he worked on the barn. The roofing materials were delivered and he spent the next three days getting the metal roofing on the second half of the barn. The weather was cool but sunny, just perfect to enjoy a fire in the fire pit. I found a perfect spot to hang the hammock between two trees.

We were excited to have Kent & Gloria join us for the weekend. They were able to fly from Mesa to Missoula, then drove the last 140 miles. We had a great time showing them around Whitefish. We hiked the Whitefish Trail, drove around Whitefish Lake, went up to the ski resort, had hamburgers at the Bulldog Saloon (aka, The Fart & Slobber Inn!), strolled through the shops, and had huckleberry ice cream at Sweet Peaks. We took the Road to the Sun to Logan's Pass in Glacier Park, which was absolutely fabulous with fall colors. We had such a fun few days together.

With our guests gone and the roof on the barn, Lee decided to have some more lumber delivered and get started on the center of the barn that will connect the two sides. We went into town to the movie, roasted hotdogs on the fire, and just enjoyed being outside in the beautiful autumn weather. All too soon it was time to get everything buttoned up for winter and head back home to Texas. Already looking forward to next time....
