We kicked off the weekend Thursday with a yummy Tex-Mex dinner, including fresh tamales (that Worker Bee Ben had picked up for us) and Amy's tortilla soup, and an evening of crafts and fun. We changed into our Bee-esta nightshirts and made "Not to brag...." books, personalized our own koozies, fashioned flower pins and hairclips, and created our own Bee message boards. Gloria gave us new "Bee Bags" that she had made for each of us.
Friday morning's exercise ended at Krispy Kreme for a sweet breakfast before we headed downtown for the day. The official "Bee wear" of the day was black/yellow, to celebrate a "Yellow Rose of Texas" theme. We enjoyed lunch at San Antonio's original restaurant on the Riverwalk, and took a boat cruise along the river, before a visit to the historic Alamo.
Friday night was the official Bee Meeting, where we honored our outgoing queen, Gloria. We conducted "official" business, shared our "Not to brag..... moments," and Gloria conducted a fun sharing activity. A vote was taken and Tara was unanimously crowned as the new "Queen Bee." We also celebrated Gloria's birthday, complete with gifts, a candle-lit Cheesecake Factory cheesecake, and a memorable yellow rose ceremony.

Saturday's events began with lunch and shopping at LaCantera's outdoor mall. We then checked into the beautiful LaCantera Resort and spent the afternoon/evening lounging at the pools & hot tub. There was even a late-night run to Chick-fil-a to keep us going for more gabbing and fun!
Sunday morning we congregated in one room to share wonderful sweet breads and make plans for next year's Bee-vention. By noon it was time to say our "good-byes" and head back to our homes far from each other, but we left buzzing with great memories and the wonderful love and support of our sister Bees. Amy and Isabelle presented each of us with a parting gift -- initial Bee necklaces, that we all agreed to wear on each other's birthdays and other significant Bee occasions!
