Oh Baby!!!

We have been so excited looking forward to, and counting down to October 21st, which was Alex's due date for Baby #3. She went beyond her due date with both Leo and June, so we were confident that getting home the first part of October would give us plenty of time to be ready to welcome our newest grandchild. We arrived late on October 4th, and the next morning Alex called from the doctor's office to ask if we would come and pick up June so that she and Nick could go to the hospital! We took lunch to school to surprise Leo, then took June home with us to unpack some before going back after school. Lee and June went to the bus stop to meet Leo, and I rushed to Willowbrook Methodist Hospital. Ruby Vernon, 8 lbs. 9 oz., 20 inches long, was already in her mother's arms, born at 4:21 p.m., October 5th.

Alex and Nicholas are so blessed to have three beautiful, healthy, smart children. Ruby is loved and adored by her big brother and big sister. Our grandchildren bring us immeasurable joy, and we are beyond thrilled for another sweet granddaughter. Welcome to the family, Baby Ruby!!
