Wow, it's already been 30 years since we added a baby sister to our family!! We had wished for, prayed for, and dreamed of another baby for years, and finally on June 7, 1986, our dreams came true. We were all so thrilled on the day Alex was born, and she has been a joy and a blessing to all of us for 30 years! There was no way I was going to miss celebrating with Alex, so I made another quick trip back to Texas. Tara was able to come over for the weekend too, so we celebrated with the entire gang on Sunday, then Amy, Alex, the kids, and I celebrated with lunch at Gringo's on her actual birth date.
An extra benefit of the week was that I was able to share in the fun of the last day of school activities with Isabelle and Olivia, and also attend their ballet recital.
I made the most of the week while I was there -- got my hair cut, teeth cleaned, pest control treatment for the house & yard, mowed and weeded the back yard (then made arrangements for the yard crew to do it from now on!), and attended the wedding reception of a dear friend, Brittney Meier.
