The flight to Provo was first thing in the morning, and Tara had arrived the night before, so she picked us up and we went straight to Swig's for one of their famous sugar cookies and an original Dirty Diet Coke!Tara worked parts of Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at the national dance events being held at BYU, and it was so fun for me and Gloria to watch some of the events. We were able to cheer for Tara when she presented her annual scholarship, and again when she represented Arthur Murray to present their scholarship. Mandy joined us Saturday night for a fun girls' night to watch the national pro finals.
It was so nice for me and Gloria to have time every day to visit with Dad. He seemed thrilled to see us, and over and over reminded us that he had the "most beautiful daughters in the world." We took the opportunity to go to the house to start the process of figuring out what to do with all of Dad's & Mom's stuff, and were mostly overwhelmed as we realized how much time that is going to take! We met with our brothers and talked about Dad and how to move forward with his care. We all agree that Dad is where he needs to be, and are particularly grateful that he is in such a lovely care facility. Dad seems content, and although his memory is failing, he seems to recognize his limitations.
An extra special tender moment for us was when the three of us went to the Payson Hospital to donate some newborn caps on behalf of Mom. Mom was knitting the caps when she passed away, and Gloria had the great idea for us, and our girls, to continue her project. All of Mom's babies were born in the Payson Hospital, and that is also where she passed away, so it seemed especially fitting to present the caps knitted by me, Gloria, Alex, and Tara to the nursery there. Mom's hands were never idle, and I am so grateful that she taught me to knit, crochet, sew, quilt, etc., and to share those talents.

Gloria and I have decided that we LOVE traveling with Tara - she takes such good care of us! We packed as much as we could into a few short days, and had a great weekend together. Sunday afternoon Gloria and I flew back to Mesa, and Tara took the red-eye home to Miami. My flight back to Houston wasn't until Monday evening, so Gloria and I had the entire day to do some shopping, have lunch with Jenny and her little girls, and plan our next adventure!
The same weekend Max was competing in the Ohio Age Group Junior Olympic State Swimming Championships, where the best in the state ages 9-14 compete. You have to have qualifying times in events to make the meet, and Max had qualifying times in all 11 events possible for a 10 year old. His two favorites are the 100 butterfly and the 200 individual medley. He ended up placing 15th overall for the entire meet. We are so proud of Max!Meanwhile, back in Texas...Isabelle was helping Grandpa adopt a dog! After they met Kenai at the animal shelter, they just couldn't resist. So, I returned from my "Spring Break" to find Kee (which Belle and Lee decided to shorten his name to) at home in the backyard! From Texas to Arizona to Utah to Ohio - a lot can happen in one weekend!
