Summer Days

Summer has definitely arrived in south Texas - hot and humid days, and frequent crazy thunder storms! Everything grows like crazy, thanks to the tropical weather, so we spend way too much time mowing, weeding, trimming, etc. (I always wish sweat was filled with fat calories!!)

In June we celebrate both Alex's and Nick's birthdays, and Amy & Ben's anniversary, along with Father's Day. This year Chris was in Ft. Worth attending some training over the Father's Day weekend, so we took a little road trip over to celebrate with him. Luckily, Vanderbilt was playing its first game in the College World Series that evening so Chris & Lee were able to watch it together, which was a rare Father's Day treat for Lee.

I enjoyed early morning trips to the "turtle pond" and park with the kids, and an afternoon at Houston's Children's Museum; helped Alee sew new bedding, etc. for the nursery; and checked off a couple of long overdue home improvement projects. So, enough for June's hot summer days - off to vacation!!!
